On November 5th, a delegation led by Wang Fuzheng, Chairman of Shuang'an Biotechnology Group, together with representatives from Shandong Pet Industry Association and organized by Liaoning Anjiu Animal Nutrition Food Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Anjiu Fresh Food"), continued the in-depth investigation into Anshan, a key hub of the pet industry. The group conducted extensive research and exchanges on live animal breeding, supply chain cooperation and regional collaboration, facilitating the sharing of industrial resources and experience between the two regions.
01 Draw on Industrial Spirit to Drive Industrial Upgrade
The team first visited Ansteel Museum. Guided by professional interpreters, they reviewed the development journey of Ansteel, hailed as "the eldest son of the Republic's industry". More than a thousand cultural relics on display, together with the well-preserved No.1 Blast Furnace and Sintering Machine Exhibition Area, vividly depicted the arduous pioneering history of China's iron and steel industry growing out of nothing through self-reliance. The standardized operating procedures, full-staff quality control system, craftsman spirit and sense of responsibility forged by Ansteel in technological breakthroughs and national industrial development have brought valuable insights to the pet food sector.

02 Industrial Symposium: Forging a New Pattern of Cooperation
Right after the museum tour, the delegation headed to Anshan Economic Development Zone for a symposium with local government officials and industrial representatives. Li Keyuan, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of the Zone, Li Haidong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of Anshan Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and other leaders attended the meeting. Both sides held in-depth discussions on stimulating new growth drivers for the pet economy.

Li Keyuan introduced that Anshan Economic Development Zone boasts outstanding performance in traditional industries, ranking the second among 96 provincial-level development zones across Liaoning in 2024. Relying on Jiahe Pet Market and Santaizi Ornamental Fish Trading Market, it has formed a pet industrial cluster featuring high-end live animal breeding. He emphasized that the pet breeding industry is not only a distinctive business card of the zone, but also a vital engine for employment expansion, consumption growth and industrial transformation and upgrading. Centering on the layout of "One Belt, One Base and Three Parks", the plan focuses on elevating the value of the industrial chain with breeding as the core. He pointed out that Shandong is a major province in China's pet industry. The strengths of Shandong Pet Industry Association in pet food & medicine production and exhibition operation, complement Anshan's solid foundation in upstream live animal breeding perfectly. Bilateral cooperation will greatly enhance the overall competitiveness of the two regions in the national pet industry.

The symposium featured enthusiastic exchanges. Both sides aimed to build a complete industrial chain of "breeding, circulation, exhibition and services" based on respective advantages, so as to promote high-quality development of the regional pet industry. Leaders of Shandong Pet Industry Association put forward multiple constructive development ideas based on practical operation, reaching consensus on jointly establishing breeding standards, interconnecting data platforms and co-hosting exhibitions. At the end of the symposium, Anshan Economic Development Zone signed a cooperation agreement with Shandong Pet Industry Association, marking the bilateral pet industry cooperation between Shandong and Liaoning entering a substantial stage from initial communication.

Leng Xueshuang, Secretary-General of Anshan Pet Chamber of Commerce and Manager of Jiahe Pet Market, introduced that adopting the "physical store + live streaming" model, the market trades nearly 10,000 dogs and cats every week, with annual live animal transactions exceeding 500,000 heads and a trading volume of hundreds of millions of yuan. Afterwards, the team turned to the upstream industry and paid visits to Anshan White Swan Live Animal Supply Chain Base and Li Tianqi Kennel to learn about their quality assurance systems.
White Swan Supply Chain Base has established a sound system for live animal management, health guarantee and cross-regional distribution. Song Yu, person in charge of the base, analyzed market data and noted that mid-to-high-end dog breeds including dachshunds and Maltese are increasingly popular. It reflects that consumers are more willing to pay for high-quality live pets, which has become a highlight of consumption upgrading in recent years.
